Greece Launches Hellenic Space Dawn: Four Thermal Satellites to Monitor Fires
Greece has successfully launched four thermal satellites into orbit under the Hellenic Space Dawn mission. This initiative enhances fire detection capabilities and supports environmental data collection for disaster prevention and resource management.

The Hellenic Space Dawn mission, part of the National Microsatellite Program, successfully deployed four thermal satellites using a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California. Developed by OroraTech, these satellites are equipped with advanced thermal sensors for near real-time fire detection and monitoring.
They will also provide precise marine temperature data and monitor land usage across agricultural, urban, and wetland areas. Additionally, the mission includes two experimental microsatellites aimed at vessel and coastal monitoring. This advancement strengthens Greece's capabilities in space technologies focused on climate resilience and disaster management.
