Greeley Wastewater Treatment Facility Expansion to Address Population Growth and Compliance Needs
Greeley is advancing a four-phase expansion of its Wastewater Treatment and Reclamation Facility to accommodate a growing population expected to reach 200,000 by 2055. The second phase, approved in January 2025, involves replacing aging infrastructure and enhancing capacity. The project aims to increase processing capacity from 14.7 million to 17.6 million gallons per day, with an estimated cost of $81 million funded by bonds. Completion is anticipated by late 2027.

Greeley's Water and Sewer Department is expanding its Wastewater Treatment and Reclamation Facility to manage a projected population growth to 200,000 by 2055. The second phase of the four-phase project, approved in January 2025, focuses on replacing nearly 90-year-old infrastructure and increasing capacity.
The facility currently treats 8.5 million gallons daily and is permitted for 14.7 million; post-expansion, this will rise to 17.6 million gallons per day. The expansion will cost approximately $81 million, funded by bonds. Completion is expected by late 2027.
