Green Cat Renewables CEO Discusses Long-Term Strategy for Energy Sector Modernization
Gavin Catto, CEO of Green Cat Renewables, emphasizes the necessity for a stable government strategy to enhance private investment in green energy. He highlights the importance of de-politicizing energy to facilitate the energy transition and optimize the UK’s electricity network.

Green Cat Renewables, which includes Green Cat Hydrogen and has a significant stake in EWT Systems, aims for long-term growth through organic development and strategic partnerships. The group has seen success with Green Cat Hydrogen being shortlisted for three HAR 2 projects and restarting EWT Systems.
Catto argues that government must provide consistent policy support to reduce investment risks and enhance infrastructure for renewables. The company plans to expand operations in Europe, particularly in Greece, and aims to transition electrolytic green hydrogen facilities into delivery by 2028. The ongoing challenges include grid reform and uncertainty in government energy policies.
