Green Valley Special Utility District Completes Expansion of Santa Clara Creek Water Reclamation Facility in Texas
Green Valley Special Utility District has completed a 0.5 million gallons per day expansion of the Santa Clara Creek Water Reclamation Facility, increasing its capacity to 0.75 MGD. The project, initiated in January 2025, includes new treatment and pumping systems. The facility, permitted by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, is part of a three-phase expansion plan aiming to meet future growth in Northeast San Antonio.

Green Valley Special Utility District (GVSUD) has completed a 0.5 million gallons per day expansion of its Santa Clara Creek Water Reclamation Facility, increasing capacity from 0.25 MGD to 0.75 MGD. The expansion project began in January 2025 and includes a new aerobic packaged wastewater treatment plan, pumping systems, non-potable water systems, and a lift station.
The facility is permitted by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and is part of a three-phase expansion plan to accommodate future growth, potentially reaching 2.5 MGD. GVSUD now serves 20,000 water connections.
