GreenGrowth Project Enhances TVET Reform and Green Skills Training in Northern Ghana
The GreenGrowth Ghana Project aims to reform Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to facilitate green enterprise development, focusing on women and youth in the Northern Region. The initiative seeks to align TVET policies with green economy priorities, addressing structural gaps and promoting sustainable job creation.

The GreenGrowth Ghana Project, launched in October 2024, is an EU-funded initiative designed to empower women and youth through green and circular economy sectors in Northern Ghana. Key stakeholders, including government and education leaders, convened to discuss aligning TVET policies with green priorities, identifying challenges such as outdated equipment, limited financing, and weak industry linkages.
A dedicated session on social financing examined blended finance models to support vocational education. The project emphasizes the necessity for practical skills training to enable youth to build sustainable enterprises. Continued regional training programs and grant support will be essential as the project advances into Phase III, highlighting the importance of coordinated action among all stakeholders.
