Greensburg City Council Discusses Tax Abatement for Data Center by Jumping Bison LLC
The Greensburg City Council approved a 10-year partial tax abatement for a data center proposed by Jumping Bison LLC on 340 acres of recently annexed land. Despite concerns raised by over 40 residents, the council noted that the center would use less than 3% of the city's water treatment capacity and that Jumping Bison LLC would bear all infrastructure costs while adhering to storm water management regulations. The city's electricity supply will remain under the jurisdiction of Hoosier Energy.

Councilor Jamie Cain informed fellow Councilors about an application for a tax abatement for 340 acres annexed by Greensburg for a data center by Jumping Bison LLC, which has not yet broken ground. Over 40 residents attended the meeting expressing concerns.
The annexation was petitioned by local landowners for industrial zoning aligned with economic development plans. The city approved a 10-year partial tax abatement, with the new user projected to use less than 3% of the city's water treatment capacity.
Jumping Bison LLC will cover all infrastructure costs, and storm water management will comply with city ordinances. The city does not control electricity supply, which is managed by Hoosier Energy.
