Greenville Considers Zoning Regulations for Future Data Centers
The Village of Greenville is reviewing zoning rules for data centers, with a meeting scheduled for May 18. This initiative aims to prepare regulations prior to any development proposals, responding to an increase in data center siting in Wisconsin.

The Village of Greenville is set to evaluate new zoning regulations for data centers during a plan commission meeting on May 18 at 5 p.m. The proposed changes would categorize data centers as warehouse use, requiring a special exception that involves public hearings and Planning Commission reviews.
Key requirements include a minimum distance of 200 feet from residential properties, a landscape buffer of at least 50 feet, and noise limits not exceeding 70 decibels at property lines. Village officials indicate there are no current applications for data centers, but regulations are necessary for future proposals. If the Planning Commission approves, the ordinance will proceed to the Village Board for further deliberation.
