Grid Connected Infrastructure Sells 100 MW Megamouth Battery Storage Project in Houston to Banpu Power US
Grid Connected Infrastructure has sold its 100 MW Megamouth battery energy storage project in Houston, Texas, to Banpu Power US. Ascend Analytics provided advisory services for the transaction. The project, located in a high-demand ERCOT Houston zone, is expected to begin commercial operations in Q4 2027. This marks GCI's first project sale and emphasizes its business model of developing high-value BESS locations.

Grid Connected Infrastructure, LLC has sold its 100 MW / 200 MWh Megamouth battery energy storage project in Houston, Texas, to Banpu Power US Corporation. Ascend Analytics advised GCI on this transaction, which is expected to enhance Banpu's energy business in the U.S.
The Megamouth project is situated in the ERCOT Houston zone, recognized for its growing need for flexible capacity due to increasing power demand and renewable energy penetration. Commercial operations are slated for Q4 2027. GCI retains ownership of the land, operating under a long-term lease, marking its first project sale since its founding in 2022.
