Grimaldi Group Christens Ammonia-Ready Vessel Grande Manila in Shanghai
The Grimaldi Group has officially launched the ammonia-ready Pure Car & Truck Carrier (PCTC) Grande Manila in Shanghai, a 200-meter vessel with a gross tonnage of approximately 77,500 tons and a capacity for over 9,200 CEUs. Its maiden voyage will transport more than 5,800 cars and additional cargo from China to the UK, Spain, and Belgium, with a return scheduled for late April. The vessel is equipped with a modern electronic engine and is designed for future conversion to ammonia fuel, reflecting Grimaldi's commitment to sustainability and expansion in the Philippines.

The Grimaldi Group took delivery of the ammonia-ready Pure Car & Truck Carrier (PCTC) Grande Manila at a ceremony in Shanghai. The 200-meter vessel has a gross tonnage of approximately 77,500 tons and a loading capacity of 9,241 CEU.
It is designed for efficient transport of vehicles and other rolling cargo. The Grande Manila's maiden voyage will begin this week from Taicang, China, carrying over 5,800 cars and 1,300 meters of additional cargo to the UK, Spain, and Belgium, with a return to China scheduled for the end of April.
The vessel features a state-of-the-art electronic engine and has received the 'Ammonia Ready' class notation from RINA, enabling future conversion to ammonia fuel. Grimaldi aims to expand its presence in the Philippines, reflecting the country’s importance to their commercial network.
