Groningen Seaports Reports Growth with Record LNG Transshipment in 2025
Groningen Seaports reported a record LNG transshipment of 15.7 million tons in 2025, largely driven by imports from the US, Middle East, and Russia. The ports of Eemshaven and Delfzijl have experienced increased activity with new companies establishing operations and existing ones, like Google, expanding facilities. CEO Bart Jan Hoevers announced a preliminary profit of 2.5 million euros and revenue of 51.1 million euros, alongside significant growth in the offshore wind industry.

Groningen Seaports reports positive results for 2025, highlighting a record transshipment of 15.7 million tons, primarily driven by LNG imports. The Eemshaven and Delfzijl ports have seen growth in activity, with new companies like CircTec and Sustainable Fuel Plant establishing operations.
Existing companies, including Google, have expanded their facilities. The offshore wind industry is also thriving, with nearly 20% of North Sea wind farms constructed from Eemshaven. CEO Bart Jan Hoevers announced a preliminary profit of 2.5 million euros and a revenue of 51.1 million euros at a recent meeting.
A total of 21.7 hectares of industrial land was allocated, equivalent to about 32 football fields. LNG is sourced from the US, Middle East, and Russia, contributing to one-third of the total transshipment volume.
