Grupo Samca to Invest €2.6 Billion in Data Centers in Zaragoza, Creating 2,300 Jobs
Grupo Samca has secured initial approval for a €2.6 billion investment in the Green IT Aragón project in Zaragoza, which will create 2,300 jobs. The development of a data campus focused on cloud services, artificial intelligence, and data management will span from 2026 to 2030, covering over 4 million square meters and significantly boosting local tax revenues and GDP growth in Aragón.

Grupo Samca has received initial approval for the Green IT Aragón project in Zaragoza, involving a total investment of €2.6 billion and the creation of 2,300 jobs. The Plan of General Interest of Aragón (PIGA) was updated and approved on December 10, 2025, allowing for the development of a data campus specializing in cloud services, artificial intelligence, and data management.
The campus will occupy 4,087,850 square meters, with a significant portion allocated to energy and communications infrastructure. The investment will be spread over 2026-2030, with €4 million allocated for urbanization in 2026 and €836 million expected in 2027.
The project anticipates 800 direct jobs and between 560 and 1,050 indirect jobs during construction, with an additional 150 direct jobs during operation. It is projected to increase local tax revenues and contribute to the annual GDP growth of Aragón.
