Gruve Secures $50 Million to Address AI Power Shortages with Infrastructure Partnerships
Gruve has secured $50 million in Series A follow-on funding to address AI infrastructure power shortages, focusing on the transition from training to inference. The company partners with data center providers to access approximately 500 megawatts of unused power across major US cities and currently offers 30 megawatts in four states. The new funds will be used to hire engineers and researchers to improve its inferencing software, with plans for future expansion into Japan and Western Europe.

Gruve has raised $50 million to tackle power shortages in AI infrastructure, focusing on the transition from training to inference. Founded in 2024, Gruve partners with data center providers like Lineage and OpenColo to utilize their unused power, gaining access to approximately 500 megawatts across major US cities.
This Series A follow-on funding increases total raised to $87.5 million, led by Xora Innovation with participation from firms including Mayfield and Cisco Investments. Gruve currently offers 30 megawatts across four US states: California, New Jersey, Texas, and Washington.
The company supports clients, including Bio-Rad and PayPal, by providing engineering services for neoclouds and plans future expansion into Japan and Western Europe. The new funds will be allocated for hiring engineers and researchers to enhance its inferencing software.
