Gruve Secures $50 Million to Address AI Power Shortages with Infrastructure Partnerships

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

Gruve has raised $50 million to tackle power shortages in AI infrastructure, focusing on the transition from training to inference. Founded in 2024, Gruve partners with data center providers like Lineage and OpenColo to utilize their unused power, gaining access to approximately 500 megawatts across major US cities.

This Series A follow-on funding increases total raised to $87.5 million, led by Xora Innovation with participation from firms including Mayfield and Cisco Investments. Gruve currently offers 30 megawatts across four US states: California, New Jersey, Texas, and Washington.

The company supports clients, including Bio-Rad and PayPal, by providing engineering services for neoclouds and plans future expansion into Japan and Western Europe. The new funds will be allocated for hiring engineers and researchers to enhance its inferencing software.
