Guimarães and CEiiA Sign Protocol to Establish Guimarães Space Hub in Portugal
Guimarães and CEiiA have signed a protocol to establish the Guimarães Space Hub, focusing on aerospace research and the management of a planned constellation of 30 satellites by 2026. The initiative, supported by the University of Minho's Aerospace Engineering programs, aims to foster collaboration across business, education, and research sectors. Additionally, a renovation project for the old Arquinho Factory will begin, with a competition for the work anticipated by the end of the semester.

On March 5, Guimarães and CEiiA signed a protocol to establish a technological hub focused on aerospace research and the Atlantic Operations Center, managing a constellation of 30 satellites planned for orbit by 2026. The Guimarães Space Hub aims to enhance cooperation in the aerospace sector, involving business, education, and research.
The initiative is supported by the University of Minho's Aerospace Engineering programs. A renovation project for the old Arquinho Factory will also commence, with a competition for the work expected by semester's end.
CEiiA's CEO emphasized the importance of engaging aerospace engineering students and signed a second protocol with the University of Minho. Key figures from Portugal's space economy participated in the event, discussing the current landscape and future prospects.
