Gujarat Targets 3 MMTPA Green Hydrogen Production by 2035 at VGRC Seminar
The Gujarat government aims for 3 MMTPA of green hydrogen production by 2035, supported by a comprehensive policy discussed at a recent seminar. Key targets include 30 GW electrolyzer capacity and 75 GW renewable energy capacity, alongside significant job creation and carbon emission reductions.

The Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) held a seminar on the 'Gujarat Green Hydrogen Policy 2025' in Surat, targeting 3 MMTPA green hydrogen production by 2035. The discussions highlighted objectives such as achieving approximately 30 GW in electrolyzer capacity, 75 GW in renewable energy, and eliminating 5 MMTPA carbon emissions.
Infrastructure and regulatory support, along with financial incentives for biomass and electrolysis-based projects, were also addressed. Panelists included experts from L&T, Waaree Group, and IIM Ahmedabad. The event emphasized the importance of balancing industrial growth with environmental protection, showcasing the shift towards viewing waste as a resource.
