Gujarat Unveils Integrated Renewable Energy Policy Targeting 150 GW by 2035
Gujarat has launched its Integrated Renewable Energy Policy 2025, aiming for over 150 GW of renewable capacity by 2035 and 300 GW by 2047. The state has seen a significant shift to solar energy, with capacity reaching 25,529.4 MW, surpassing wind's 14,820.94 MW. The policy encompasses diverse technologies, promotes battery energy storage systems, and aims to create 100,000 green jobs. Additionally, a Green Hydrogen Policy sets targets for 30 GW of electrolyser capacity and 3 mmtpa of green hydrogen by 2035.

Gujarat's Integrated Renewable Energy Policy 2025 aims for over 150 GW of renewable capacity by 2035 and 300 GW by 2047, building on its transition from wind to solar power dominance, with solar capacity reaching 25,529.4 MW as of December 2025. The new policy integrates solar, wind, and energy storage systems and promotes emerging technologies while establishing a framework for repowering aging wind projects.
The Green Hydrogen Policy targets 30 GW of electrolyser capacity and 3 mmtpa of green hydrogen production, aiming to generate 600,000 green jobs. The state also plans 75 pumped storage projects by 2035 to enhance grid reliability.
