Guntur Officials Ordered to Enhance Safety Measures for Drinking Water

Guntur Municipal Corporation has initiated a series of measures to ensure the safety of drinking water. Commissioner K. Mayur Ashok directed officials to perform a special audit of drinking water pipelines across all wards to identify those near drainage systems.
Mandatory ammonia testing is to be implemented in suspected areas, with results uploaded to a designated portal. Following the discovery of a pipeline in Sugali Colony that ran through a drain, a show-cause notice was issued for negligence. Additionally, cleanliness and hygiene measures were emphasized at reservoir sites, and planning officials were instructed to address construction debris on roads.
