The Golden Valley Electric Association Board of Directors approved a budget framework of $125.4 million for a significant infrastructure project, leveraging $100 million in federal forgivable loans. The budget includes the development of a new battery energy storage system (BESS) facility and essential infrastructure upgrades. Additionally, the project allocates up to $1 million for project design and transformer acquisition.
