GWM Launches Hydrogen-Powered Boat Tour Along Brazilian Coast
In April 2026, GWM will begin a tour along the Brazilian coast with the JAQ H1, the first hydrogen-powered school boat in Latin America. This initiative aims to showcase hydrogen's potential as a clean energy vector and its applications in mobility and electricity generation. Developed with Grupo Náutica and Itaipu Parquetec, the 36-meter vessel uses fuel cells to convert hydrogen into electricity, significantly reducing CO₂ emissions. The tour will include demonstrations and discussions on sustainable energy solutions.

GWM will commence a tour along the Brazilian coastline in April 2026 with the JAQ H1, the first hydrogen-powered school boat in Latin America. Unveiled at COP30 in Belém, the boat will visit various Brazilian ports to demonstrate hydrogen's potential as a clean energy source.
The JAQ H1, measuring 36 meters, employs fuel cells to generate electricity from hydrogen, producing only water vapor as a byproduct, thereby cutting CO₂ emissions by up to 80% during navigation. The tour will include a stop in Rio de Janeiro for the Energy Summit from June 23-25, promoting discussions on energy innovation and sustainability.
