Gyeongju City to Implement Key Policies for Tourism, Industry, and Urban Development by 2026

HYDROGEN

Gyeongju City plans to implement three major policies focused on tourism, industry, and urban development by 2026, following the successful hosting of the APEC Summit. In tourism, the city aims to attract 60 million tourists by renovating key Silla royal sites and transforming the Tomb of King Munmu into a sacred site, along with expanding tourism infrastructure through the construction of the Second Donggungwon Garden.

In the industrial sector, Gyeongju will operate three research facilities related to e-mobility: an advanced materials molding center, a parts recycling center, and a safety research center for shared batteries, while also seeking to attract a research center for future vehicle technologies. Urban development plans include transforming the former Gyeongju Station site into a new town and establishing the area as an investment zone, alongside expanding the metropolitan transportation network with a subway and hydrogen trams.
