H2SITE Establishes Norwegian Subsidiary to Advance Maritime Hydrogen Solutions

AMMONIAHYDROGEN

H2SITE has launched H2SITE Norway AS in Bergen to promote hydrogen solutions for maritime decarbonisation. The subsidiary aims to collaborate with local shipowners, shipyards, and technology partners to adapt systems for real vessel conditions.

Norway's strong maritime heritage and climate ambitions make it a suitable environment for ammonia-based energy solutions. H2SITE emphasizes that the risks of delaying decarbonisation now outweigh those of adopting new technologies.

While ammonia-to-power engines are nearing commercial readiness, challenges remain, including ammonia slip and pilot fuel requirements. H2SITE Norway will focus on pilot projects to integrate systems in realistic conditions, supporting the transition to zero-emissions vessels. Future efforts will concentrate on deploying systems in real environments and refining solutions with the Norwegian maritime industry.
