H2V Magallanes Halts Activities Due to Lack of Consolidated Green Hydrogen Market
The Association of Green Hydrogen Producers in Magallanes (H2V Magallanes) has suspended its activities due to the lack of a consolidated market for green hydrogen. The organization highlighted insufficient global demand signals to support large-scale projects. Despite this, companies like Consorcio Austral and TotalEnergies H2 will continue their independent initiatives. H2V Magallanes also raised concerns about Chile's national green hydrogen strategy, emphasizing the need for clear development signals to maintain international positioning.

H2V Magallanes has halted its activities, citing the lack of a consolidated market for green hydrogen. The association noted there are no firm buyers or clear international demand to support large-scale, capital-intensive projects in the region.
While the association's activities are paused, companies such as Consorcio Austral, Acciona & Nordex Green Hydrogen, TEG Chile, and TotalEnergies H2 will proceed independently with their projects. H2V Magallanes also expressed concerns about the national strategy for green hydrogen, stressing the importance of Chile maintaining its international positioning and providing clear development signals to ensure the viability of the hydrogen sector.
