Hainan Approves Huadian Wenchang Green Hydrogen Project with 102.87t Annual Production Capacity
The Hainan Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment approved the Environmental Impact Report for the Huadian Wenchang Green Electricity-to-Green Hydrogen Application Demonstration Project on December 31, 2025. Located in Changyang Village, Wenchang City, the project will utilize a 100MW solar project to produce hydrogen via electrolysis, with an annual output of 102.87 tons.
The initiative includes constructing a 100t/a electrolysis unit and supporting facilities over an area of 5,000 square meters, with a total investment of 18.1 million yuan, of which 1.431 million yuan is allocated for environmental protection.
