In 2026, six new cruise ships will debut, emphasizing eco-friendly propulsion such as LNG, Bio-LNG, and hydrogen. Hamburg has established infrastructure to support these advancements, allowing ships to refuel with methanol and LNG via Ship-to-Ship methods, making it one of the first European ports with a methanol-compatible bunkering system, facilitated by partnerships with the Hamburg Port Authority and RWE Supply & Trading.
