Hamyang County Accelerates Construction of KRW 1 Trillion AI Data Center
Hamyang County is expediting the construction of a KRW 1 trillion AI Data Center, set to commence in 2025 and complete by 2027, with operations starting in 2028. The project, facilitated by Orid Korea and involving Mondrian AI, will repurpose the Hyucheon General Industrial Complex into an information services hub, creating approximately 300 jobs and enhancing the region's technological landscape. A power supply agreement with Korea Electric Power Corporation has been established to ensure stable energy resources for the center.

Hamyang County is advancing the construction of the KRW 1 trillion Hamyang AI Data Center, aiming to start in 2025. On the 30th, county officials visited Mondrian AI's headquarters in Incheon for discussions regarding investment progress.
The project, facilitated by Orid Korea, will transform the Hyucheon General Industrial Complex from steel casting to information services, establishing a foundation for advanced industries. The site features a secure basin-like terrain and has a 154kV transmission line already in place.
Hamyang County signed a power supply agreement with Korea Electric Power Corporation in February 2025 to ensure stable energy resources. Construction is expected to be completed by 2027, with operations beginning in 2028. The investment is projected to create around 300 jobs, boost local tax revenue, and enhance the region's technological landscape.
