Hanwha Ocean Invests 4.1 Trillion Won in Offshore Wind Project Near Yeonpyeong Island
Hanwha Ocean Co., Ltd. is initiating the 480 MW Gyeongin Peace Wind Offshore Wind Farm off Yeonpyeong Island, with a 4.1 trillion won investment. This project aims to enhance regional energy self-sufficiency and support the transition to renewable energy in Incheon.

Hanwha Ocean is developing the Gyeongin Peace Wind Offshore Wind Farm, a 480 MW project located 18 km south of Yeonpyeong Island. The investment totals 4.1 trillion won, equating to electricity for 300,000 to 400,000 households.
The project plans to install either 32 turbines of 15 MW each or 48 turbines of 10 MW each. Significant milestones include securing a business license by 2027, completing an environmental impact assessment by 2029, and commencing construction in 2031. This initiative aligns with other substantial offshore projects in Incheon, including Ørsted's 1.4 GW project and others from domestic companies, collectively driving the region's renewable energy goals.
