Harlingen Mayor Addresses Misinformation on Potential Data Centers in Texas
Harlingen Mayor Norma Sepulveda addressed misinformation regarding potential data centers in Willacy and Cameron County, clarifying that no such projects have been proposed to the city or the Harlingen Economic Development Corporation. She emphasized that while an agreement exists with HWWS to provide effluent water if a project arises, there are currently no imminent plans, and any proposals would be reviewed by the County Commission. Mayor Sepulveda expressed her commitment to holding a town hall meeting to inform the community if a data center proposal is made.
