The Haryana government plans to unveil a Green Hydrogen Policy focused on clean energy, coinciding with India's first mega Green Hydrogen project in Panipat by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). The project, with a capacity of 10,000 tonnes per annum, aims to commence operations by December 2026 and will supply green hydrogen to the IOCL Panipat Refinery. The initiative is expected to transform Haryana's industrial landscape, facilitate job creation, and align with national climate commitments.

Haryana is set to introduce a Green Hydrogen Policy aimed at enhancing clean energy initiatives. This policy will align with India's first major Green Hydrogen project in Panipat, being developed by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), with a capacity of 10,000 tonnes per annum.
The project is scheduled for commissioning by December 2026 and will supply green hydrogen to the IOCL Panipat Refinery, contributing to India's climate goals. A high-level meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, discussed the project's progress and the need for reliable power supply. The initiative is expected to create approximately 40,000 direct and 120,000 indirect jobs, while facilitating the decarbonization of high-emission sectors in Haryana.
