Hassan Allam Utilities and Infinity Power Finalize 1.2 GW Solar Projects in Egypt
Hassan Allam Utilities and Infinity Power have signed power purchase agreements for two solar and storage projects totaling 1.2 GW. The developments are pivotal for Egypt's renewable energy targets of 42% by 2030 and 65% by 2040.

Hassan Allam Utilities Energy Platform (HAU Energy) and Infinity Power have entered into agreements to develop two solar and battery storage projects in Egypt, aiming for a total capacity of 1,200 MW of solar power and 720 MWh of storage. The first project, a 200 MW plant in Benban with 120 MWh storage, is set to start operations in Q3 2026, while the larger 1,000 MW facility in Minya is anticipated to commence in Q3 2027.
These projects are crucial for Egypt's goal of achieving 42% renewable electricity by 2030. HAU Energy has 2.3 GW of renewable projects in the pipeline, indicating its significant role in Egypt's energy landscape. This collaboration positions Egypt as a potential renewable energy leader in the MENA region, fostering both national development and environmental sustainability.
