HEBI Robotics Secures NASA SBIR Grant for Miniaturized Actuators Development
HEBI Robotics has received a NASA SBIR Phase I contract to accelerate the development of miniaturized actuators for use in SmallSats and challenging environments. The project aims to make robotic systems more affordable and reliable, addressing the growing demand for flexible solutions in the commercial space sector.

HEBI Robotics has won a NASA Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I contract, which will run through December 2026, to develop miniaturized, high torque density modular actuators. The project aims to create actuators suitable for CubeSats and rugged environments, bridging the gap between low-cost hobby servos and high-end space robotics systems.
Earlier this year, HEBI received a Phase II SBIR contract from NASA, valued at $850,000, to enhance actuation technology for low Earth orbit and geosynchronous missions. HEBI's modular actuation solutions are designed for quick deployment in challenging environments, potentially benefiting both NASA and various industrial applications.
