HELIOS and FLEX4H2 Win Best Success Story Award for Hydrogen Combustion Advances
FLEX4H2, coordinated by Ansaldo Energia, won the 'Best Success Story' award at the Hydrogen Research and Innovation Days 2025 for its advancements in hydrogen combustion. The project showcased the effectiveness of sequential combustion in using various blends of natural gas and hydrogen, aiming for turbines to operate with up to 70% hydrogen by 2030, thereby enhancing decarbonization in power generation. This technology, based on Constant Pressure Sequential Combustion (CPSC), improves fuel flexibility and reduces emissions.

FLEX4H2, coordinated by Ansaldo Energia, received the 'Best Success Story' award at the Hydrogen Research and Innovation Days 2025 from the Clean Hydrogen Partnership. The project demonstrated that sequential combustion can utilize any blend of natural gas and hydrogen, including pure hydrogen, contributing to industrial hydrogen combustion.
Ansaldo Energia aims to operate turbines with up to 70% hydrogen by 2030, enhancing decarbonization efforts in power generation. The technology relies on Constant Pressure Sequential Combustion (CPSC), improving fuel flexibility and reducing emissions.
