Helix Exploration Advances Rudyard Project towards Helium Production in Montana
Helix Exploration is progressing towards first helium production at its Rudyard Project in northern Montana. The pressure swing adsorption compressor, essential for helium production, has been delivered and is being installed at the processing facility.
Commissioning is expected to begin after electrical completion. Re-entry operations at the Inez No. 1 well have started, aiming to core the Precambrian interval, with completion projected by January 19, 2026.
The company is actively discussing helium offtake agreements and exploring hydrogen potential in the Rudyard Field with Tier 1 parties. The project can potentially generate net revenue of $115 - $220 million over 12.5 years, with production wells targeting up to 3,800 Mcf/day at 1.2% helium. Helix aims to leverage existing infrastructure for efficient production.
