Hillcrest Completes Phase 1 Technology Evaluation with Tier 1 Automotive Supplier for EV Inverter Applications
Hillcrest Energy Technologies has completed Phase 1 of its technology evaluation with a global Tier 1 automotive supplier, demonstrating the feasibility of converting the supplier's half-bridge power modules for Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) in electric vehicle (EV) inverters. The project, initiated in March 2025, included hardware design, prototype assembly, and testing, confirming the integration of ZVS technology into the supplier's inverter architecture.
The successful completion allows Hillcrest to pursue a commercialization strategy focusing on high-value customer partnerships. The ZVS technology has achieved efficiency rates of up to 99.7%, with significant performance gains.
Concurrently, Hillcrest is advancing the ZVS PCS1000 (200kW | 1000V) for grid applications, targeting A-sample prototypes by Q2 2026. The technology offers economic advantages for data centers and is part of discussions for Canadian manufacturing partnerships with Pasqua First Nation and Apeiron Resources Ltd.
