Himachal Minister Urges Goodwill Energy to Release LADA Funds and Address Local Issues
Minister Jagat Singh Negi has mandated Goodwill Energy Enterprises to release overdue LADA funds for local development and employment commitments linked to its 29 MW hydropower project. The delay has hindered area development and local employment, raising concerns about infrastructure safety and community welfare.

Himachal Pradesh's Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi has directed Goodwill Energy Enterprises to immediately release the pending Local Area Development Authority (LADA) funds associated with its operational 29 MW hydropower project in Suru village, Rampur. The non-release of these funds has negatively impacted local development efforts and commitments to provide employment to 15 individuals from the project-affected village, which remain unfulfilled nearly eight years post-project initiation.
Negi also highlighted ongoing seepage issues in the project tunnel, emphasizing the need for corrective measures based on a prior expert committee report. Additionally, he called for urgent repairs to the Kutdu-Suru road to ensure safe travel for residents during the monsoon season. Failure to address these issues could lead to increased public dissatisfaction and further delays in regional development.
