Himachal Pradesh CM Confirms Land Revenue Obligation for Hydropower Developers

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that hydropower project developers must pay land revenue, underscoring it as the state's legitimate right. During a meeting with developers, he emphasized the need for compliance with regulations and timely payments.

A meeting for hydropower projects with 25 MW capacity is scheduled for January 12 in Shimla, led by State Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi. The Chief Minister reiterated the government's commitment to utilizing state resources for public welfare and announced plans to address challenges faced by developers.

Additionally, the state is pursuing permanent membership in BBMB projects and the release of Rs 6,500 crore in arrears from 1966 to 2011. The meeting included various stakeholders and senior officials.
