Himachal Pradesh CM Launches School Adoption Initiative and Education Centre for Differently-Abled

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhu has implemented a school adoption initiative requiring district and sub-divisional officers to adopt government schools to enhance education quality. As of now, 4,231 schools have been adopted, including various levels such as primary, middle, high, and senior secondary schools.

Officers are tasked to mentor at least four schools, ensuring monthly interactions with students, career counseling, and surprise inspections. Sukhu also laid the foundation stone for a Centre of Excellence for Education of Divyaangjans in Kandaghat, to be established at a cost of ₹200 crore, aimed at providing education and facilities for 300 differently-abled children. Additionally, allocations include ₹50 crore for specialty facilities at Solan Hospital and a reaffirmation of the state's right to levy 2% land revenue on hydropower projects.
