Hinduja Renewables to Invest $4 Billion to Triple Capacity to 10 GW with Focus on Wind and Storage
Hinduja Renewables Energy will invest $4 billion to expand its renewable capacity from 3 GW to 10 GW, focusing on wind power and energy storage. The company plans to develop hybrid solar-wind projects and pumped hydro storage to meet India's green energy demands, with agreements for approximately 11,000 MW of pumped storage capacity across several states. Additionally, HREPL aims to enhance its digitalization and in-house capabilities while co-locating wind and solar assets to optimize infrastructure.

Currently, HREPL operates in rooftop solar, ground-mounted projects for commercial clients, and utility-scale projects. The strategy includes co-locating wind and solar assets to optimize infrastructure use.
HREPL has signed agreements for approximately 11,000 MW of pumped storage capacity in Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Uttarakhand, with a detailed project report for a 1,000 MW project in Assam nearing completion. The company plans to invest ₹12,000-15,000 crore in pumped storage over the next five years, alongside advancements in digitalization and in-house capabilities.
