Hindustan Copper Limited Partners with CODELCO for Chilean Expansion
Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) has signed a Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality Agreement with CODELCO to explore mining opportunities in Chile. This agreement follows a previous cooperation framework initiated in April 2025, marking a significant step in HCL's international growth strategy.

Hindustan Copper Limited has engaged a transaction advisor to facilitate its entry into the Chilean mining sector, focusing on potential acquisitions of copper assets. A joint team visited exploration sites in Chile from April 20-30, 2026, to assess copper blocks and evaluate opportunities, with work on the initiative currently in progress.
The partnership with CODELCO, the largest copper producer globally, provides HCL with critical technical expertise and geological data. This venture may represent HCL's first significant international mining initiative, potentially enhancing India's role in global copper markets amid rising demand for the metal in renewable energy and electric vehicles.
