Hitachi Energy Launches HMAX Energy AI Suite for Critical Infrastructure
Hitachi Energy has introduced HMAX Energy, an AI-driven suite aimed at enhancing the management of critical energy infrastructures. This initiative addresses the urgent need for modernizing electrical networks amidst rising energy demands and aging infrastructure, with a potential investment requirement of $1 trillion.

Hitachi Energy's new suite, HMAX Energy, leverages artificial intelligence to optimize operations and extend the lifespan of energy assets. It consists of three operational pillars: Plan focuses on asset life cycle optimization, Predict enables timely issue detection, and Prevent emphasizes proactive risk reduction.
The platform supports utilities, renewable sectors, and data centers, addressing the urgent need for infrastructure modernization as many existing networks exceed their intended lifespan. Notable applications include improvements in operational efficiency, with reported reductions of 60% in revenue losses due to equipment failures.
The use of digital twins, such as IdentiQ®, enhances real-time monitoring capabilities, significantly improving response times and system reliability. Applications with Baltic Cable and ERG demonstrate tangible benefits, including reduced inspection times and enhanced asset availability.
