HKUST Secures Over HKD 77 Million for 13 Research Projects in 2025/26 UGC Funding

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has secured funding exceeding HKD 77 million for 13 projects under the 2025/26 Collaborative Research Fund (CRF) and Research Impact Fund (RIF), ranking first among UGC-funded universities in project count and total funding. The projects focus on areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum materials science, and microelectronics, addressing challenges like urban resilience, low-carbon economy transition, financial analytics accuracy, and precision medicine applications.

The RIF encourages local academics to promote impactful research that benefits the community and fosters collaboration across sectors. Key projects include sustainable AI datacenters, trustworthy language model applications, and automated UAV vertiport development.
