Ho Chi Minh City Plans 52.92 Ha Strategic Technology Center
Ho Chi Minh City is developing a 52.92 ha area into a Strategic Technology Center to attract multinational investments in semiconductors and AI. This initiative supports a shift in FDI focus towards high-tech projects, with stringent investment criteria to enhance local capabilities.

The Management Board of Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) is finalizing a plan to convert 52.92 ha of land into a Strategic Technology Center, designed to attract multinational corporations in semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI). This center will include three functional zones: a 16.92 ha high-tech production and testing area, a 24.4 ha high-tech service zone, and a 7.79 ha training and research incubator.
The project aims to shift foreign direct investment (FDI) towards high-tech sectors, with current investments over $11 billion primarily focused on 57 projects. To ensure quality, SHTP will implement strict investment criteria, requiring data center projects to exceed $100 million per hectare. This strategic initiative is intended to enhance local participation in the global supply chain and improve technological capabilities.
