Holly Pond's wastewater treatment renovations are set to commence on September 8, 2026, following a year-long wait for approval. The project, which has been in planning since 2019, received a $280,000 SRF loan after the Alabama Department of Environmental Management identified it as a high-priority initiative.
The completion deadline is established at 210 days, aiming for full operation by late April 2027. Additional infrastructure projects, including road repairs and signage updates, were also discussed during the council meeting. The successful completion of the wastewater treatment upgrades is crucial for meeting environmental standards and enhancing local public health.
