Hong Kong Park Opens to Enhance GBA Innovation and Technology Development
The Hong Kong Park of the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone officially opened, aiming to enhance innovation synergy in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The 87-hectare Hong Kong Park, part of a larger 300-hectare Shenzhen Park, features three operational buildings, including two wet-laboratory facilities that have attracted over 60 enterprises.
An apartment building and additional facilities like a biobank and data center are also operational. The remaining five buildings are set to be completed by 2027, with the total gross floor area expected to reach 2 million square meters.
The park will support strategic industries such as life sciences and artificial intelligence, and facilitate cross-border innovation. The Hong Kong government plans to enhance infrastructure, including a footbridge linking the two parks. Yuanhua Tech, based in Shenzhen, is among the first tenants, establishing its global headquarters in Hong Kong.
