Huawei Supplies Batteries for Brazil's Largest Renewable Energy Storage Project
Huawei will provide batteries to Aggreko for Brazil's largest energy storage system in the Amazon, costing 850 million reais. The project aims to reduce reliance on thermal power plants and will take up to three years, with initial operations expected between 2027 and 2028.

Huawei is set to supply batteries to Aggreko for a renewable energy project in Brazil's Amazon region, marking the country's largest energy storage system. The project, costing approximately 850 million reais ($165.55 million), aims to diversify the power supply from thermal plants.
The implementation will take up to three years, with the first plants operational between 2027 and 2028. The microgrids are expected to provide energy to 24 locations in Amazonas state, including Tefe, a city with around 75,000 residents. This initiative supports Huawei's expansion in Brazil, coinciding with the anticipated government auction for battery systems.
