Huhtamaki Advances Sustainability Goals with Renewable Energy and Circular Packaging Initiatives

In its 2025 Sustainability Report, Huhtamaki outlines its commitment to sustainability through various initiatives including renewable energy and emissions reduction. The company is targeting Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, with a new rooftop solar project in Thailand expected to generate 4.5% of the site's electricity and a Cairo facility project projected to save 2,900 MWh by the end of 2025, rising to 5,000 MWh in 2026.
Additionally, Huhtamaki achieved zero waste to landfill in Indiana and reduced water use by 55%. Innovations in packaging, such as paper cups with reduced polymer coatings, further support its circular economy strategy.
