Huntington County to Discuss Data Center Ordinance in Upcoming Meeting
The Huntington County Plan Commission is set to review a proposed ordinance for data centers, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and carbon capture projects. This discussion is critical as it follows a temporary moratorium on these subjects enacted earlier this year.

The Huntington County Plan Commission will convene on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. to deliberate on a proposed ordinance for data centers, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and carbon capture initiatives. Board members will provide input to Tim Ochs, the attorney drafting the ordinance, on its specific provisions.
The meeting will also include a public comment period for residents to express their views. Earlier in the year, the commission implemented a temporary moratorium on data centers and related projects, highlighting the need for structured regulations in these emerging industries. The outcome of this ordinance could significantly impact future developments in the county.
