Huntsville Approves Agreements with Blue Origin and SPX Enterprises for 450+ Jobs and $200 Million Investment
The City of Huntsville has approved agreements with Blue Origin and SPX Enterprises, projected to create over 450 jobs and attract nearly $200 million in investment. Blue Origin will invest $71.4 million to expand operations and produce thrusters in Alabama, while SPX Enterprises plans a $118 million facility for cooling equipment, both benefiting from city incentives and tax exemptions.

The City of Huntsville has approved agreements with Blue Origin and SPX Enterprises, expected to create over 450 jobs and generate nearly $200 million in capital investment. Blue Origin will invest $71.4 million to expand operations in Cummings Research Park and Jetplex Industrial Park, creating 105 jobs and establishing Alabama as its home for thruster production.
The city will provide up to $200,000 in hiring incentives. SPX Enterprises plans a $118 million production facility in Greenbrier for cooling and air-handling equipment, anticipated to create 350 jobs with a 460,000-square-foot facility.
The city will offer up to $250,000 in incentives contingent on meeting hiring and wage benchmarks through December 31, 2029. Both agreements include 10-year tax exemptions, with education-related taxes still applicable.
