HyConnect Project to Develop Hydrogen Logistics Tool for Transport Sector
The HyConnect project, involving multiple institutions including RWTH Aachen and H2 Mobility, aims to develop a digital platform to enhance hydrogen logistics in the transport sector. Funded by the North Rhine-Westphalia Ministry of Economic Affairs, the initiative will integrate hydrogen demand and supply data to improve planning, address infrastructure challenges, and create solutions for pricing and data interfaces over a 2.5-year period. A prototype interface and a capacity management platform will also be piloted to streamline operations for hydrogen-powered trucks.

The HyConnect project, involving RWTH Aachen, Hochschule Offenburg, H2 Mobility, H2 Green Power & Logistics, and Mansio, aims to create a digital platform for utilizing existing and future hydrogen infrastructure in the transport and logistics sector. The project addresses challenges like cost, process integration, and infrastructure density for hydrogen-powered trucks, which need to integrate seamlessly into existing business processes.
Funded by the North Rhine-Westphalia Ministry of Economic Affairs, the 2.5-year project seeks to combine hydrogen demand data from fleet operators with availability data from station operators to enable precise planning and prevent supply shortages. It will also develop solutions for hydrogen pricing and a universal data interface, with a prototype interface to be evaluated and a capacity management and reservation platform to be piloted.
