Hycosys Secures $1 Million Funding from MGF Kavachh for Hydrogen-Compatible Micro Gas Turbines
Hycosys has raised over $1 million in a seed funding round led by MountTech Growth Fund - Kavachh. The funding will be used to enhance the engineering team and testing facilities for developing a micro gas turbine (MGT) designed to replace diesel generators by mid-2027.
The startup, founded by Dr Tapish Agarwal and Ugandhar Reddy, is creating a fuel-flexible MGT that can run on hydrogen, natural gas, or blended fuels. Plans include integrating the MGT with micro grids and commercial vehicles, and developing propulsion units for drones.
The innovation features a hydrogen-optimised combustor and advanced turbine design, boosting efficiency and reducing weight. The shift from diesel generators presents a significant market opportunity in India.
