Hydrogen Pipeline Project Hybor Receives Initial Approval Steps
The scoping procedure for the 120-kilometer Hybor hydrogen pipeline has commenced in Germany. This project, part of the national hydrogen core network, aims for completion by 2029, addressing regional hydrogen transport needs.

The Hybor hydrogen pipeline, spanning approximately 120 kilometers from Bobbau in Saxony-Anhalt to Rückersdorf in Thuringia, has initiated its scoping procedure across three German states. This early procedural step, involving authorities and public interest stakeholders, establishes the framework for upcoming environmental assessments.
Preparatory studies have been ongoing since late 2025, including environmental mapping and ground investigations, which will contribute to the planning approval process set to begin in 2024. The project is integral to the national hydrogen core network and aims to connect existing pipelines for hydrogen transport, enhancing regional industrial connectivity. Gascade has scheduled public information sessions in affected areas, including Halle (Saale) and Leuna, for May 2026.
