Hynfra Pursues Innovative Financing for Oman Green Ammonia Project
Hynfra aims to secure billions in funding for green hydrogen and ammonia projects, with a significant focus on Oman. The company's innovative financing strategy combines various funding sources to mitigate risks and create a robust investment framework.

Hynfra is developing the Green Ammonia Oman (GAO) project, which aims to produce 400,000 tonnes of renewable ammonia annually, requiring an investment of approximately $5.4 billion. Located in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, Oman, the project will utilize around 2.6 GW of renewable power and is designed primarily for export to Europe.
Hynfra's financing strategy involves integrating diverse funding sources, including strategic investors and development finance institutions, to support large-scale projects in regions with renewable resources. The Oman project is part of a broader MENA pipeline, including initiatives in Jordan and Mauritania, reflecting the company's strategy to work with various technology partners to minimize execution risks. The success of these projects will depend on attracting long-term institutional capital to transition from concept to construction as the demand for low-carbon fuels increases.
